MacRitchie survey 21-May-10

Some caterpillar~
Some leaf-hopper as mentioned by Dhava. She say this sp. always stay on this plant.
Slug feeding on the fruit of Melastoma. Birds such as orange-bellied flowerpecker and pink-necked green pigeons also feed on the fruits of Melastoma. I din know that slugs also eat them!
Ornate Coraltail (Ceriagrion cerinorubellum). Pretty damselfly! Looks as if they are floating in the air~ Closed wings - Damselfly. More information here.
Male common parasol (Neurothemis fluctuans). Can see the transparent edges of the wings. Opened wings - Dragonfly. More information here.
Female common parasol (Neurothemis fluctuans)
Male Orange-bellied flowerpecker (Dicaeum trigonostigma). Slightly hidden behind the leaves (in the middle of the photo).
Female Orange-bellied flowerpecker (Dicaeum trigonostigma) feeding on Melostoma fruits.
On the way out, heard "chip-chip" sound. Thought was a bird. But when we raised our head. We saw a squirrel! Possibly plantain squirrel (Callosciurus notatus)
On our way in, we saw a brown rat and and water montior. On our way out, we saw 3 pairs of mating damselflies!!! But no photos. :P

I didn't take any scenery photos today. So I will just end off here. Hopefully there will be more sightings tomorrow! :D
