Botanic Gardens trip with LSS (06 Mar 10)

Ailian and I met up earlier to walk around before the herbarium tour. So we walked to the swan lake to look at swans and other birds.

Firstly, the swans~~
Then the plantain squirrel caught our attraction~
Then the male pink-necked green pigeon perched on the tree behind us. But the photo was too dark, then I brighten it using software. :P The colours of the pigeon is sooooo pretty~ The female has a different plumage.
The white-breasted waterhen walking and foraging at the edge of the bank. (Quite blur cos I shot through the bino.) The tail very cute, keep moving up and down.
Then we saw an interesting tree, according to that guy, it is the cannonball tree.
And next is the famous tree of Botanical Gardens, the tree on the reverse side of the $5 note! It is the Tembusu tree~ with the low lying branch that people can sit on.
Pink bushy flower of the Calliandra haematocephala also known as the red powder puff.
Another squirrel right in front of us!
Carnivorous pitcher plants! This is the 1st time i've seen them!
Pink Dragonfly~
Beautiful scenery at the swan lake...
More photos of the swan!
Headless swan??? Haha... I think is coz the weather too hot, the swan wants to wash its face n neck~ :P
Group photo after the trip~ Marking the end of the trip!
